Cartoon booklet for Kotex

deodorant powder)
teaching etiquette, grooming,
fashion & dating to teenage
girls
For years copywriters for Kotex
produced Are
you in the know? advertisements
for teenage American girls. This
1956 booklet is a compilation of
these ads published by
Kimberly-Clark. There are almost only
Caucasians in these ads,
and the advice they give, and the
dress of the people, suggest at
least an upper-middle
class audience - but maybe that
was just the times.
Haven't things changed?!
More
about the illustrator/cartoonist,
Irving
Nurick.
The language can be hilarious
and probably reflects teenage
speech of the time.
