dainty appears on this site in many places, a favorite word in the
menstrual products industry (see Daints tampon,
Daintette menstrual cup and "daintiness"
in an ad for a pad, among many instances). Its opposite is stinky,
a terrifying attribute commonly whiffed in previous centuries and even recently
in certain Western cultures. But today in America
it casts its female bearer into social (and
married) hell .
It usually means any odor coming from between a woman's legs except the odor from washed and healthy genitals during the time
of sex and perceived only by the lovers (more about odor).
Refreshed is just as euphemistic and obviously
related to fresh, itself a euphemism.
Now, the woman below is probably awakening (but she has slippers on).
Refreshed, of course, can mean having had enough sleep. Has
her odor kept her awake? Is she about to cover her nose? I think
the top sentence might be an elaborate euphemism, causing the reader to
think hard about what is meant - wink, wink wink.
Again, sanative means curative, not sanitary.
