read objections to my emphasis on alcohol as
the main effective ingredient of the Pinkham
compound.
Compare these stories with those in a booklet from about a generation earlier, which lacked detailed addresses but
are as fascinating. Alcohol in a form allowed to polite
ladies seemed to be a selling point.
