THE MUSEUM OF MENSTRUATION AND WOMEN'S HEALTH
Kotex menstrual napkins and box, U.S.A., 1969
About the time of the first manned rocket flight to the moon, Kotex
produced this box, which might explain the science-fiction space gear the
woman is wearing. I wonder if they meant this to be humorous.
Kotex put deodorant into pads decades before this box claims, so it's
not clear why it reads "now." Advertising often likes to give
the impression of newness, which can distort the facts.

Below: the front of the box. Below that
is the menstrual pad.

The tabs fit into the grippers of a menstrual belt (here
and many here) or into "sanitary panties,"
special underpants designed to hold pads (see this pad in Kotex
Panti).
