Ad for Carefree panty pads, Germany, 1990
We see how popular English is in
Europe in this ad for a German
menstrual panty pad for teenagers in
April 1990. But
couldn't the ad agency have hired a
native English speaker to write the
large words? A generation of
girls who want to speak English
correctly is ruined! OR is it a play
on the mostly British Isles expression
"take care"? I think the majority of
Germans learn English with an English
accent, not American.
