The public was still skeptical of them. Even as late as 1990 Tampax ran a series of ads about virginity ("Are you sure I'll still be a virgin?") and other topics that hindered women and girls from using tampons. Read a famous, slightly later study with the same purpose and see the bulletins Tampax published in the early 1950s to address many questions the public had.
