Most of the text of the booklet is black; the illustrations are a combination
of brown and black.
I dropped the color to make download faster.
In the last lines the introduction emphasizes "'essence
of womanhood,' fastidious, charming femininity,"
something that might seem politically incorrect today. "Feminine"
and its variations have a long
history in American menstrual advertising and packaging design as a way
to oppose the public's usual
horror of that blood and secretion with something, well, feminine and that
other word, dainty.
Someone should write a book about those words (but
start by reading this).
