Early advice books can be charming and this one certainly is. Part of
the charm comes from a tenderness for the intended readers; other charm
comes from explanations long discredited. More recent medicine has greatly
complicated the picture - but her advice to use menstrual
suspenders must be based on something she's familiar with.
I trimmed of the margins of the pages to save space.
