Kotex doesn't
show! Ad for Kotex menstrual
pads, 1932 (U.S.A.)
1932: tampons made this headline,
below, a lie as small companies burst
forth with tiny solutions to women's
menstrual concealment strategies. Wix, fax,
Tampax -
notice the X's? Just like Kotex! - and
others at this time started to grab
women's attention.
Modess too emphasized clothing on
highly stretched young women, pencil
thin in this contemporary
ad.
See a roughly contemporary version
of the Marjorie
May booklet advertised at the
bottom of the ad (Canadian edition but
it was probably identical to the
American).

Kotex ads emphasizing clothing: 1927 & 1955.
