Many women and girls have always worried that people
would know what was in a menstrual pad box. The maker of Modess even
commissioned the efficiency expert Dr. Lillian Gilbreth to figure out how
better to conceal the shameful contents; read the many
interesting results. Note that the wrapped box
(often sold that way) "might contain . . . any one of a dozen glamorous
purchases." What, Modess wasn't glamorous?
