Stores displayed this cardboard ad
in the 1930s for the Wix menstrual
tampon. Tampax tampons, which \took
over the company, seems to have also
absorbed - ha, ha - some of the
advertising copy, which emphasized the
lack of pads, pins and belts, but
other early tampons did the same
thing. It was a breakthrough for
women.
