Below: P. 12. Procter & Gamble (and
some of its customers) had a terrible experience with
tampons: its Rely killed or sickened many
women because of toxic shock syndrome, discussed
below. Earlier it had sold other tampons
(for example, Trust, like Rely a word to inspire,
er, trust) but after Rely it wasn't until it bought Tampax
a decade after this pamphlet appeared that it ventured into this dangerous
territory again.
