Ad for the booklet "As One Girl To Another,"
1963, U.S.A., Modess menstrual pads
Companies making menstrual products have often used cartoons
to sell products to teenagers.
The characters below discuss athletics,
a frequent concern of the companies' educational booklets, and odor,
an evergreen.
For decades, Personal Products offered the booklets the girls discuss,
taking the tough job of explaining menstruation from parents. Selling their
products was easy, although today Modess has almost disappeared from the
market.
