Below: P. 6.
Before Tampax Inc. was formed (1936; the
subject
of Small Wonder) this very
early Tampax box, tampon,
instructions
appeared; with a newspaper ad from 1934.
Origin of the word
Tampax: "It was a coined term which
I put together from the word tampon and vaginal
pack . . . ."
A vaginal pack is not
a pack of vaginas but a medical
treatment, say of cotton with medication,
inserted into
the vagina.
