Anshin origami menstrual tampon
(Japan, 1977)
In 1997 Tambrands gave
the box to this museum as part
of an amazing
gift of 450 boxes of
tampons dating to the founding
of the second Tampax company,
1936, plus hundreds of other
items.

Below:
The tampon patiently awaiting its
fate. Don't drop it into the toilet
before you put it into the tube.
Stop cursing! It measures 2 x 3/4"
(5.5 x 1.7 cm), the string 4 1/4"
(10.5 cm).

NEXT: See the
instructions, which I hope women read before
they needed this tampon - for Anshin, peace of mind.
