MUSEUM OF MENSTRUATION AND WOMEN'S HEALTH

TamPak menstrual tampons, super, with applicator, Turkey, 1973
Tampon

Tambrands kindly donated the box as part of a large gift from its archives.

It looks worse than it is. Clear flexible plastic houses two packs of five tampons each in the box. The plastic appears dark because of the black background on the scanner.
Ripping open the plastic, which is easy, reveals the tampon, at left. The string is yellow, just as with the smaller version without an applicator.
The intact applicator (as shown) measures 4.25" x 0.625" at its widest.

Below: Again, the applicators are clear, not tinted.
The string is 7.5", long for a tampon.
Yes, you see lots of loose fibers from the string and tampon.
This plug (the absorbing part) measures 1.24" x 0.5"; it might differ from the others as did the sizes of the smaller TamPak.
